Memoirs of a Meal

Wow! I was just reading my last blog entry and what a load of crap it was! Sorry readers for boring you to death with my uninteresting ramble of school activities. I will now attempt to try to make my blog more worthy of your precious time.
According to some sources (of which some of you may be familiar with), smell is the sense most closely linked with memory. But for me, I have to say it’s food that I most often associate with different recollections in my life. Whenever I see a particular food, it reminds me of a certain time or experience I had it. I know lots of people will relate certain foods to unpleasant results they had from eating it but me food memories are different to those ‘bad experiences’. Here are a few examples:
Anticold (the cough lozenges) - They remind of the boy I used to live across the road from, in Sydney. We took the bus to primary school together. I remember the first and only time I ever ate one was when he offered one to me. I remember us discussing the liquid red centre and trying to taste it.
Mandarins- My friend Sisi. She was the one who told me the little bit in the centre was the sweetest part. I’ve been trying to taste the sweetness ever since and it still seems tasteless to me!
French Onion Dip, Mountain bread, peeled oranges, cream cheese (Philadelphia) - What do all these things have in common? You guessed it! TREK! We had copious amounts of these (except for the dip which I got on solo) and I’m still not sick of them (well maybe except for mountain bread which we had almost every day) (what’s with these brackets?)(why do I keep bracketing?)(I think I have a compulsive bracket-using disorder)(what is wrong with me?)(STOP U USING BRACKETS U IDIOT!)!
Sorry about my brief episode of self-conflict. I told you I was going to be a little erratic in this blog, hence the name Hannah goes Bananas. Now, where was I? Ah yes, food memories.
Great, that’s all I can think of atm. Now, dear readers, help me out here. Let’s have some audience participation shall we? In your comments share some of your interesting food memories; I’d love to hear about them! Speaking of audience, I’ll give a shout out to my latest addition of commenters. HIYA SOPHIE! HEY SISI!
Until next time…
As my microwave says- Enjoy your meal!

NO MORE EXAMS!

Hey Guys! Sorry for the delay of this entry! I've been so busy lately, with exams but now they're over(well almost, except for damn Chinese)!! How did they go? Well, they weren't as bad and scary as I imagined them to be! I guess, cos it's our first exam, the teacher's weren't too harsh on us and basically all the revision we were given were on our exams! The most nervous part was probably waiting outside the hall with everyone else around you freaking out! But once you're in there, the atmosphere is quite calm. I've got to stop myself from looking at my notes and discussing the exams with other people after my exams! Cos then I realise all the mistakes I made and I get worried! Now I'm just trying to put all that in the back of my mind and not think about them too much! In the words of Mrs Stockdale- "If it's done it's done! There's nothing you can do about it!" The one good thing about the exam period is that we don't have classes so we get to stay at home when we don't have an exam on! Poor Sacre Coeur, they have to have classes during their exams!! How stressful would that be!

Anyways, enough about exams, onto next topic. Next week I'll going to a youth mental health research centre.I knew it, you must be thinking, it's official, Hannah IS Bananas! Although I may have an undiagnosed case of ODD, I am actually only going there for Work Experience. Apparently I'll be doing a lot of computer work such as data entering and tracking down former clients(sound stalkerish). I'm interested in Psychology so hopefully this experience will help me gain more insight into field. A teacher is supposed to come and visit us to check up on us!

Anyways, I better go and start studying(and fail) Chinese.

Until next time...

Over and out!

Intro

I’m sorry dear readers, how rude of me not to have a proper first entry where I should introduce myself and welcome you! So let us begin with a fresh start. Hello! I’m Hannah, a 15 yr old readaholic. I like long walks on the beach…don’t worry I won’t go into that. Anyways, what can I say? You’ll find out more about me as you read my entries. Welcome to my blog! If you’re wondering about that name of my blog, I was totally stuck on ideas so I decided to build on my ‘nickname’ Hannah banana. I think I might go crazy sometimes on this blog so I guess it fits somehow. LALALALALALALA! There we go, my first bout of going bananas! Anyhow(that’s such a yr 8 word), I hope you enjoy reading my blog and feel free to post comments!
Until next time…
Who am I? That’s a secret I’ll never tell.
You know you love me, xoxo Hannah

A Surpising Letter

I’m jumping on the bandwagon and making a blog. *shock horror**news flash*HANNAH HAS A BLOG! Most people know me as a pretty private person and normally I wouldn’t dream of posting my life and feelings on the web for the whole world to see but I thought why not, as long as no creepy pedophile will stalk me I should be fine.
Today I came home from school and checked the letter box as usual and to my surprise I found a letter for me! I thought it a bit odd how the envelope and stamp looked so familiar until I realised it was from me! Now, dear reader, I know that you must be thinking what a weird, sad little girl, sends letters to herself, but let me explain. You see, near the end of trek, my leader Tash said that we could write a letter to ourselves and she would send it to us six months later. I can’t believe how fast this year has gone, we’re almost half-way into yr 10 and I still haven’t got used to it! After I realised what the letter was, I didn’t have much motivation to open it as I thought I already knew the content. But I finally gave in to mild curiosity and opened and read the letter addressed to me and from me! I laughed at the accuracy of the letter in the beginning when it said “You’ll be in the middle of yr 10, probably stressing about exams.”Then it started going on about all the corny stuff about how Trek was life-changing and how I’ve changed etc. etc. I sounded like my mum! C’mon gimme a break! I had only had about 4-5 hours of sleep and I was trying to write that letter on the bumpy bus ride home. Wasn’t that what I was supposed to write?? Then it gets worse! Can you believe that I start giving advice to myself!! I tell myself to do more chores(pffft as if that’s gonna happen) and not watch TV and go on the internet so much(that’s also unlikely). Although I like the thing I wrote near the end; I think Tash told us that when we climbing a particularly high and steep mountain in the pouring rain- “Just like trek, life isn’t meant to be easy, you just have to work hard to get through. So when you’re feeling down, just think of the mountains on trek and how you got up them. Persistance is the key.” That touched me it has given me strength to keep on going when things get tough.
Speaking of which, I better persist on the maths sheet that’s due tomorrow.
Until next time…
Toodles!
